Dennis Swanson of Children of the Mushroom

About a month ago I was contacted by Dennis Swanson who was the drummer for the band Children of the Mushroom. They recorded two great psychedelic songs in 1968 called You Can't Erase A Mirror and August Mademoiselle. I had these songs in rotation on my internet radio station when Dennis did a search for his old band's music and saw I was playing his music and he contacted me to tell me he couldn't believe his songs were being played.

I have been in touch with Dennis and asked if he would be interested in joining us here at the forum and he said he would like to join in on our lively discussions. I will be e-mailing him a link to the forum shorty and I hope we will hear from Dennis soon. It should be interesting hearing his perspective on the 60's music scene.

Peace...MilesMingus

Yeah, that would be very cool... We had had a few others from that era join us here and I found the insight truly interesting... I know I would have several questions for him...

Hi, everyone! Just want to thank all of our faithful fans for listening to our record made way back in 1967. I was the Drummer and lived through it all. I am very glad to be here..... Dennis Christensen Swanson, Children of The Mushroom, circa 1967

Awesome! Welcome to the forum.

I'll have to see if I can't get some of your music to check it out. 1967 was THE golden year of music in my opinion.

So Dennis, did your band play any gigs with other 60's psychedelic artists (known or unknown)???

Did you have any clue that there would still be a following of fans 30+ years later for the type of music you recorded way back when???

Are you still in the music business in any way? If not, what have you been doing since you recorded back in the 60's??
