"Seven Tons for Free" and "Get up" are ok I suppose, but I like his work with O'rourke and Fennesz with the FennO'Berg stuff more than anything else. Sure, he owns the label, but still that doesn't make him a great artist I kinda feel the same way about him like John Hughes III, owner of Hefty records that produces under the name Slicker. Not too fond of the original material he puts out, but his label is magnificent.

lol this reminds me of an old UK computer game show called Gamesmaster. kids would walk up to this huge projection of a head (Patrick Moore, no less) and would ask question on cheats or tips on games they were stuck on, like -

kid: Gamesmaster, what do i do to complete game X?
GM: Enter the cheat X Y Up Down Z start
kid: thank you gamesma...
GM: go away, boy, you annoy me.

man. those were the days. the megadrive/genesis still ruled.

anyway. my question. should i bother buying Robert Ashley's 'Dust'?

No, they were never really popular here, perhaps because the price, when it came out, was nearly 700 dollars!!! Just like the Panasonic 3DO

i'm gald we're having this type of a discussion here. the definitive picture/photo threads have turned into mush-pushy 'oh you've got nice eyes' pap.

Bring on the beers, that's what i say. yeah, we kinda got distracted from my question gamesmaster... i mean equinox...

to answer your question would be too hard knowing that I haven't listened to this recording. Although, I'm not a fan of opera, I cannot tell you to or not to buy this product, nor am I really familiar with the person that you are asking about. Would you say his works, in the past, were good?

and look at how successful SNK and Panasonic have been...well at least 3DO and SNK have branched off into their own respective companies.

well, 3DO quit making consoles, but still kept making games, the same thing Sega ended up doing, so I wouldn't really call that successful , but that's just me
