All this show does is finds the most stereotypical black people and put on this blatantly racist show because they know they can get black people to act like 'black people' it'll equal ratings. I can't stand it.

If I'm understanding you correctly: black people shouldn't act 'black' because that is racist? How should they act?

Or you asshole, you totally missed the point. i'm telling what most people know about reality shows. They grab the most stereotypical members of each race and put them on the shows because they KNOW it'll get ratings. They don't want you to see a levelheaded black man, they want you to see one that would get in a screaming match and use all the latest 'urban catchphrases'. They know this will get ratings so that's why they do it. I can use that point and say why 'wiggers' are racist. They take all the stereotypes from TV's and movies and incorporate them into their lives because thats how they've seen black peole act on TV.

I've got a newsflash for you: this isnt THE APPRENTICE. They dont want level headed people. They are making a fucking rap group -- they got thug kids and a couple of scuzzy rnb singers. They, act the way they act. You said they acted 'too black'... so I'm wondering who is racist then? The show, or you? If they acted 'less black' then you wouldnt have a problem with it? What do you have against 'acting black'? Do you not like blacks?

Damn I am so lost in the arguement between you two.

Personally I've never seen the show but it does seem to have certain stereotypes in it from the brief moments I have seen. I wouldn't say these stereotypes are only black stereotypes though, I'd say there more the teen generation stereotypes.

I think the that past all the bickering, it is established that The Band sucks and is forever over.

Ah, I see Halcyon Days is working on getting banned a second time.

I think you're both right. They are looking for 'characters' more than people. They want 'characters' that are going to act like black, thuggish rappers. It gets ratings and attention.

At the same time, we are talking about a 'rap group' here, not upstanding black citizens. So the entire purpose of the show is predicated towards this and we should expect nothing less.
