I think the great Maynard can front as many bands as he wants, as long as he doesn't pull a Phil Anselmo and leave the band that hes known for and go with his side project. Tool is one of the greatest bands ever and will always be ahead of APC.

Even though Maynard heads both, I think these bands are appealing in different ways. There's just a mood and sound to APC that just 'does it for me' while Tool seems more of an acquired taste. Both are good in their own ways.

Im going with Tool on this. From what i've heard of them APC just doesn't really do it for me as much as Tool.

I think both bands are awsome, and i agree with what was said about APC maybe being the lighter side of tool. I like more music from tool though.

Well, Tool has better music and lyrics. But A Perfect Circle has better melody. My opinion about this is that A Perfect Circle may be a lighter side of Tool.

I have to agree. If you listen to APC's lyrics, Maynard has said alot of things he's previously said with Tool. You can even detect exact phrases from other songs. Maynard is just extending his message to another genre of listeners. Those who don't like heavy metal have an alternative to the same message. I have to agree though and say that he better not dump Tool for APC.

I've only gotten to hear a few limited songs by A Perfect Circle, so ill go with Tool, because I like their sound and lyrics.
