The Vines
Winning Days is out and the critics are already giving them much deserved credit. Does the album match up to Highly Evolved? Is it better? What do you think?

Can;t say i am too impressed with them, tho i have only heard the first album where the singer seems to try and be a Kiurt Cobain wannabe.

Don't really like them either... Saw the lyrics for their new single and well it looked ridiculous, but I haven't heard the song actually...

every review ive read for Winning Days has been terrible.
im nota fan- never hav been. heard Highly Evolved and thought it was shite. havnt heard anything from Winning Days as yet past the first single, but im thinkin more the same from that. a friend of mine downloaded the other night, listend it through once and dragged it right over to the trashcan. im sure id hav the same bigwasteoftime result.
on top of all that, ive heard their live show is brutal and anytime ive seen them make television appearances to perform at award shows and the like it seems to indicate the same.
istill cant believe Courtney Love descibed them as being the next Nirvana, but better. she knows a whole helluva lot better than to say something as blasphemous and moronic as that.

She may know better but she's so messed up I doubt she knows what she's talking about any more. Last time I saw her was on Letterman and she was out of control weird. I mean being weird is okay but she was just way over the top - even for her.
She either needs to lay off the drugs or needs to take some to fix her mental state.

I honestly don't see any similarities between The Vines and Nirvana. The only thing that I think is slightly similar is that both guys can scream, but it still sounds totally different, and so do the guitar riffs.
I have their first album, "Highly Evolved" and I bought it after hearing only two songs. I loved, and still love, the whole album, so I think it was a good investment!!
I'm hoping to get their second... I don't think what I've heard from it sounds too bad... However, some critics are saying it sounds too much like the first and "The Vines just need to grow a bit".
I think they're great, anyway.

Oh yea, I forgot, The Vines....I like "Highly Evolved" a lot. Not really impressed by the single - which is all I've heard so far. I'm willing to give it a full listen to see how I like it, however.
