I'm trying to get the sound a hi-hat makes when its partially open, i dont know the proper terminology for it but i think u'd understand what i mean...

anyone have any ideas or suggestions?

I think i might be in the wrong topic board.... i'm just using plain ole ordinary midi... from a plain ole ordinary sound card...

i think i know what you're getting at... you're using the midi sounds from your sound card in a tracking type prog and are looking for more right?

if that is the case then the problem you seem to be having is a limitation of your sound cards midi bank... it has X number of sounds built in... it might not have anything that sounds like an open hi-hat... depending on your card you might be able to import more sounds but i could be wrong...

i can get open hi hat but im trying to get the sound u get when u got it open just a bit and the two cymbals hit against each other... i dont think i can get it... maybe i just need a better sound card...
