I'm not into DJ'ing at all, just played a bit with this program .. I know there are some DJs round here, what do you think of this and other programs for DJs ?

Native Instruments, I assume? I need to get a copy of it and see how user friendly it is before I comment really. I hope it's easier than reaktor though. I think they make products that are technical so not anyone can "make" the music

These programs are fine for messing around, and I've seen them used at places like YMCA's where they need a (relatively) cheap, sustainable sound system- using a computer and a program like Traktor ensures the latest music is always available, and you don't run the risk of becoming redundant.

As far as professional DJ'ing goes... I don't know anyone that uses it. The only computer programs I've seen used at gigs are sequencers, sometimes MixMeister 3 (I recomend this program over anything like Traktor) and Stanton's final scratch software/hardware.

I suppose the good thing about Traktor is that will give young aspiring DJ's such as yourself a decent insight into the world that is DJ'ing.
