My mom really likes gospel, christian, and country music. Michael Smith and Enya being big favorites of hers.

That being said we took a trip to visit family last Thanksgiving and I played the entire "Live at Leeds" by the Who and she loved it! One time she heard me playing the studio version of "Magic Bus" because she had so many good memories of the song growing up, but had completely forgotten about it.

Now whenever anyone asks her her favorite music she says "I love the Whos", and that's exactly how she says it .

my parents have some good music. Old school motown, some jazz, ect. My mother is realy into R&B so our taste doin't really overlap. She calls everything with a guitar "acid rock". so you can imagine I don't really try to share that often.

When I got into the Beatles, my parents liked that, but when I got into the Doors, oh man, they thought I'd never go back to the Beatles ever again! Those two bands practically had a connection with each other! Literally! Now mom says she likes the Doors (I think) and I told her that the Doors are coming to AZ early next year (thats what one of my online buddies said) and she said I could definetly go to the concert!! I'm SOOOOOOOOOOO happy! I'll finally get to see Robby!! And once I was doing stuff on the computer and my mom was in my room as well. I wasn't about to give up on winning my mom over with Jim, so I showed her a pic of him and said 'Look! Isn't he cute?! He's adorable!' and my mom looked at the pic and said 'He is cute!' She also thinks Jim and Ringo sound alike.....ha ha.....they don't. Ray and Jim may sound alike, but not Ringo and Jim. I then showed her a pic of Robby and she made a face, saying that my kitty that I named Robby, was cuter than him. I was sad. I LOVE Robby Krieger like you can't even imagine!!

My parents hate everything that is not related to God. They hate Rock... I was surprised that my dad saw Lenny Kravitz on TV once years ago and said "Thats Lenny Kravitz". My mom used to tear my posters down in my room because she thought they were evil.

My dad is an old basturd that listens to nothing except Spanish Country and Mariachi music and anything else is "trash".

My mom on the other hand likes certain country, The Doors, Pink Floyd, Lynard Skynard, Alice Cooper, Black Sabbath and other various classic rock bands. One time when we were in the car I turned the radio on and she asked what band was playing. I told her it was A Perfect Circle and she liked them alot along with Tool. My mom also likes some Marylin Manson, like "Sweet Dreams" and "God of Fuck", and certain Nine Inch Nails tracks like "Closer", and stuff off of "The Fragile".

What really blew my mind is that I showed my mom a few Throbbing Gristle songs and she thought they were really cool. I think my mom would of been kind of gothic-ish if she grew up in our day in age judging by what she used to listen to and what she listens to now.
