Just wanted to know peoples' opinions, I've recently fallen in love with "You are free", it just has this gorgeous earthy sound. This might seem strange but it sounds like she's in the room with me, I can picture her playing her guitar in the corner of my room I've also downloaded a few songs off her "Moonpix", my favourite being "Say"; So I was just wondering which albums of hers you would recommend and your overall opinions of Chan as a singer.(Sorry if this is the wrong board, but I can imagine being pelted with virtual tomatoes ifv it was in the folk board)

I've actually only heard her on internet radio but she reminds me of Tori Amos vocally. I think she's an aquired taste. The only song I really like that I've heard by her so far is He Wars.

I have her first 4 records and they're all pretty damn good. I wouldn't call it genius or anything, but the music does seem honest and heartfelt, which is nice...and it's relaxing.

I havne't heard You Are Free yet; guess I'll have to check it out.

I like "You Are Free" a lot. Haven't gotten around to her earlier stuff but I will when I have time. She's pretty good. I like the whole album.

I've got all her albums and find her voice great. She does nothing revolutionary, yet it's still unique. "You Are Free" is the best, but "What Would The Community Think?" is my next favourite. "The Covers Record" is probably the least essential though.
