She's much to be preferred over those who have followed in her footsteps. One thing Madonna has done over the years is select quality songs and strong, innovative production values in her records...something that these young sluts who try to emulate or outdo her can't even get close to accomplishing.

To be honest, being quite young I haven't really heard music throughout her career, but in my time she's released frozen, ray of light, hollywood and love profusion which are all great in my opinion. Inconsistent at times, but she's definitely earnt her place.

I agree with the Rev and Jman here... It's not exactly music that I would play for my self, but I can enjoy her music once in a while, some of it at least

without discussing her music and her songs. I think that she is A strong women and for that she deserve all the credit.
for a girl, who can't realy sing or act and she is not a "beauty queen" either she did alot and she did it great and she influenced many or all of the pop acts around the world.

Madonna is cool. She's smart and makes no bones about what she's all about. I think her music is solid - though I don't particularly care for pop - and her "Like A Prayer" song and video is really excellent and one of my favorites. That's saying a lot for someone like me who's really into alternative and not the mainstream.
Like the Reverend said, her song quality and production values are far superior to the wanna-bes of today who think they can call what they do talent. Britney can't sing so she acts like a slut to cover it up. Christina can sing but seems to feel she has to be a slut in order to sell her music. No thought process in any of the things they've done. Nothing deep or meaningful in their music.

I apply the same rule to Madonna that I apply to "Reality T.V." and most Hip-Hop
Regardless of how I feel, it's not gonna go away.
so I might as well like it.
all around easier on the old ulcer than hating it.

She sucked then, she sucks now, and it doesn't matter if newer cheesecakes "suck more". I think they are cuter than she ever was anyway, but that's just me.
But to defend Madonna: back when I used to drink, we frequented this casino in Seattle, and the place played the exact same tracklist every Saturday. The final song was "Come On Ride It (The Train)" by Quad City DJ's, but shortly before it was Madonna's "Vogue", which always came on when EVERYONE was rolling drunk. We used to have a lot of fun "vogueing" in the bar.
So like most trashy women, Madonna is a lot of fun when you're drunk.
