I'll post a couple on the site if I'm not flayed by the angry mob of regulars first.

Its awwwwesome. Small, light, and I ran the battery for 5 1/2 hours before it went into sleep mode. I ran it, incidentally, with multiple apps and a fat ethernet transfer going at the same time. I couldn't be happer with the machine. I asked someone about spyware applications and virus protection and they laughed... I keep forgetting that I'm not running on some hack OS. If jesus ran a laptop this is the one that he would use.

Welcome to the safe, sexy, BMW-like world of Apple, halcyon. I've got an Mbox that I run on my iBook G3 (the one before yours) and it is the best investment I've ever made. I've also got a modular synth called Tassman, which like Reaktor, you can theoretically create heaps and heaps of unique instruments and sound generators. And hardly anyone uses it, so you'll sound different....

I've maxed out what my computer can do though, so a new Dual 2Ghz/3Ghz is next sometime this year...

I'd reccomend looking into Garage Band. Apple makes it themselves, you know it's good.

I've been fiddling around with garage band and its a good program. I was told, by a producer friend of mine, that GarageBand is essentially Logic, except really really simplified. Anyone know anything about this?

didn't apple buy out logic a while ago? anyway, no, I never heard of garageband until now. so is it basically a sequencer?

I also checked out tassman, it looks nice and seems to work just like reaktor. but i don't have the money to invest into new softwares right now...

it looks like the only free shit I can get is supercollider but I suck at writing actual program... no money sucks ass

I'm messing around with the Reaktor 4 demo right now and its pure algebra to me. I cant get this damn thing to do a damn thing. I tried pressing the play button but it doesnt want to automatically translate my brainwaves into the track I have inside my head. I was like WTF. Then I pressed stop, and twiddled some knobs on screen (less visceral I find, then doing it on a mixing board : ) and now I'm stuck.

halcyon days, just so you know, do not pay to get Reaktor 4 until it fixes the bugs and other crap. I heard from other users of Reaktor 4 that the newest version is crap even though it runs on OSX. I was also told that Reaktor 4 is not stable on OSX, it takes up a lot of processing power and is a big memory hog.

Its definitely a bloaty program... and I still cant get it to do anything. I think this probably has something to do with the fact that I dont know shit about synth programming.

Supercollider looks cool... very cool because im not spending money on software under any circumstances right now.

Do you know of any good tutorials or links to info pages concerning this stuff? Not supercollider specifically.. just anything. I'm chin-stroking... but without any music created.
