Im more of a crooner. Imagine Frank Sinatra mixed with Al Green, Hank Ballard, Marvin Gaye, and Curtis Mayfield. Lots of whiskey. I call it nu-croon.

and i guess we can always depend on the Postal Service as a good example of shitty vocals with a tried and true formula..it's damn sugar-coated. sorry to those who might enjoy it. i guess you might belong in the emo forum.

i'm not much on the word "emo" anyway, I hate what it actually means. Anything can be "emotional". And also, I finally listened to the new Mum...tis a bit darker than what I thought it would be, but still rubs me the wrong way. I highly doubt I'll ever give it another chance.

Philo is considered their best. i just find Red Thread to be a bit more mysterious and deeper.

as for the emo deal, it's still a label that has been developed. nonetheless it's about as pointless of a genre title as IDM. :|

Cex's 'Kill me' sounds terrible. I imagine an angst ridden 15 year old would make something like that (no disrespect to any 15 y o around here).
you get used to it, but his instrumental work is better.

Yet i don't think vocals in general are bad. For lack of a better example (i can't think of anything), Windowlicker, people. maybe not real vocals, but the same tones.
