Haha, Tony Royster Jr. Bugs me. Agreed, he's really good, but his fills are all the same...I saw a drum solo of his about 7 minutes long and he never switched time signatures, hardly ever changed rythms even, just did these mad fast fills all the time. And I don't know how you can say Bozzio's better than Portnoy...I mean it's all about opinion. John Bonham is a drumming god, and he had a relatively small kit with loose heads, and hardly ever busted out quick fills. Have you ever seen Portnoy play? I saw him live last summer...triple bass drum kit (essentially, two combined kits, a souble and a single), more than 30 cymbals, a ridiculous amount of rack toms...and best of all, he didnt spend all his time whamming out fast fills just to impress people.

Yeah, I've seen Portnoy live, but just in videos. I have a pic on my computer thats too big to attach of the drum kit youre referring to. The "siamese" drum kit. He is impressive no doubt, he is great, but there was something I heard from Bozzio...I don't know what it was called, I heard it in music history..but it was leagues better than anything I've ever heard from Portnoy. I haven't heard enough Portnoy I guess though. I'll be sure to check him out more.

Forgot all about ol' Brain. (brian mantia) I once saw a video of him with a beer in one hand, and playing a drum solo with the other, and after he got done with the beer he smashed it in midair with his drum stick. It was a good solo too, even though he had a beer in one hand.

There was a drum solo I heard once from Keith Moon. It just blew me away! Aside from that, Neil Peart does a little drum routine where his entire drum kit revolves in a circle. It's really amazing to watch.

The rhythm method solo - by Neil Peart (I think it's the one NewDawnFades meant) It's absolutely amazing................... Some of Will Calhoun's stuff is pretty awesome as well.

Carter Beauford's live solo. I don't know the name but if you have a file-share program, I suggest checking it out.

Ouch! Just heard the drum battle between Gene Krupa and Buddy Rich. There is no equal.
