Horakhti’s posts have already accurately covered groups like Less for Jake and Reel Big Fish.
I am interested, have you heard The Skatalites or Justin Hinds & the Dominoes?

I know them both. Good bands.
Bet you didn't take me for much a ska guy, did ya?--I'm not generally but I can get into it when in the right mood.

Everybody knows the Skatalites and Justin Hinds and the Dominoes! just because people like third wave doesent mean they dont know the history.
And im agreeing with Horahkti, second wave ska did have alot to do with UK punk, espescially Oi!, but it still owes ska for its inspiration, and you got to bear in mind that alot of jamaican immigrant children, some first generation were members of second wave ska bands, it wasnt a white only phenomenon. And dont split up the forum, i'd rather have one lively one than two dead ones. We could put some threads as "no second/third wave" threads.

As horakhti pointed out, if this was a thread about Favorite Fake Ska bands than that would be case. So it is you and woodsie that are both wrong.

You know the thing with modern ska is that it has alot of other influences. Like Reel Big Fish have lots of mexican/samba style influence. Its different, but i think the style still defines itself as ska.
