Can't beat Liszt

F. Liszt: Trois Etudes de concert: Il Lamento, La Leggierezza, Un Sospiro. Pianist Leslie Howard, for Hyperion.

Went to the Brand on Sat. and picked up a bunch of stuff. Bellini's Norma, Halevy's La Juive, some Mozart quartets, Liszt piano music, an opera by Salieri Axur.

Bach as in Johann Sebastian - English Suites Nos. 1-6

Some girl I know, who was 14 at the time. In some brokendown joint in Berlin. It boggles the mind, that someone with 23 pairs of my chromosomes in them, can play like this.

Calling Satchmo a hack on the piano, would be very kind of you.

Where can you find this recording, Satch?

Well, for me it's Dvorak's Eighth Symphony. Conducted by G. Szell. Yeah, I'm sort of going through another "traditional" phase.

Might have to dig out all my Mravinsky recordings. That's when you know it's serious.

I've been listening to Leo Brower's Sonata lately.

It's part of my repetoire for the year.

Roivas, as a guitarist, I wouldn't mind your advice on perfoming it and any criticism on my playing if I ever record myself during the year

I have no idea what Leo Brower's sonata sounds like.

It was fun while it lasted, but I haven't played my nylon in over 10 years.

Don't buzz the strings. Make sure the bass, inner lines, and melody are all have a life of their own. Record yourself and listen. Tuck your shirt in.

There's Merula, too...he's more on top of things in that regard!

Send me some sound once you get it down.
