Sound Forge 6 question

I was wondering if anyone knows why I am not able to record from my cassette/turntable/CD players to SF6?I do have sound on my computer from all devices listed, but for some reason I am not getting any to Sound forge?I have read the help contents and index but cannot find anything pertaining to recording from external devices.

Is there a plug-in or configuration I am missing?

I have only the program on my computer, it was given to me from a friend,so I have no instruction book.

Any help on this would be great.

Thanks
Greg

1st thing to know : there is no trick with Sound Forge. The problem is in your soundcard. Are you sure that you're recording from the right source?

I got it figured out.

No problems with the soundcard, problem was with 'recording' volume properties, since this is the first time I have used SF 6 and the computer is brand new I forgot to set it for record instead of playback.Somthing I should have known but for some reason completley forgot.

All fixed and recording fine now.

Thanks anyway.
