Arrow The "Post-Rock" Thread

I bought a Rock Action compilation the other day, because i had heard of Mogwai, and wanted to hear some tracks. I was surprised, but its growing on me. But my experience so far extends to Mogwai's "Tuner" and "Starwars" and "stanley Kubrick" and a couple of Kling Klang tracks, Part Chimp (these could be no-names, i dont know). So, in short i want recommendations and introductions.

My personal favorites would be the albums Young Team and Ten Rapid.

For Mogwai, I think 'Young Team' remains the definitive album. Sigur Ros are definitely worth a look-in, as are Godspeed, Mono, Tortoise, Tarantel and Explosions In The Sky. Also, maybe try some Set Fire To Flames or Skium?

Fatcat records is a good place to look.

The Silver Mount Zion Memorial Orchestra And Tra La La Band.

Also called A Silver Mount Zion and just Silver Mount Zion. Basically an awesome post-rock group.
