Nuh uh, none of his stuff is done live, baby, he's as fake as decaf coffee. Diet coke even. He records scratching to DAT, edits the cuts, and chucks the cuts onto a sampler. Then all you have to do is press a key, and wah lah, instant scratching. He didnt half the production on tracks like Session anyway. Grr.

I recomend y'all take a look at any battles (not rap battles) you can find, thats when you'll see really fine scratching. In the land of Oz, look out for DJ Finatik. He's only 16, and cuts better then most people I know (me included!).

I'm think about doing a few more turntable orientated tracks... I'll keep y'all posted.

I'd recommend DJ Swamp if you haven't heard of the guy. he's a crazy mofo and all the aforementioned ones such as Q-bert, Rob Swift, Mix Master Mike, Yoda are great. Not to mention Roc Raida of the x-ecutioners, cut chemist of jurassic 5 and ozomatli, Shortkut, DJ Z-Trip, DJ Shadow (underrated), DXT (one of the grandfathers of scratch, performed on herbie hancock's "rockit"), DJ Faust, and even DJ Craze.

Dj Shadow isn't underrated -- he's overrated. It seems that the more that praise is foisted on him the less and less I can identify with his work. Not much of a crazy scratcher either. His live shows are done on an mpc.

Underrated Scratchers: Dj Flare, Dj Shortkut

hey Geoff, you forgot to mention Philip Jeck (although he has nothing to do with hip hop, but avant-garde)
