Back to Eminem, I hope, like you, that he returns with something fresh which really showcases his talent. I wouldn't listen to him now since he's really been overplayed in those few years. But there's no doubt that he's something special.

Yes but people like that aren't even worth the time of day. I think everyone should be open to all types of music and at least gives things a chance. If after that you decide its really not for you then so be it.

Eminem. Yeah I remember after Encore he was saying, but it could have just as easily been rumors, that he was working on an album to be released at the end of the year (2005 at that time) which would be much more appealing to his older and 'real' fans. I don't know if it got scrapped, wasn't working out, or was just one big rumor, but still he definitely knows that he needs to release good material or none at all.

Most of the main Eminem points have been covered.

Best album: Marshall Mathers LP

It's been downhill since then -- except for a few interesting underground mixtapes he's done with tha Lantern.

Mic skills: There's some pretty unbelievable free style tapes out there

Racial barriers: Although he's got lots of white kids as his fan base, I haven't met many black rap enthusiasts who didn't respect Eminem for his abilities. Rap was popular to white people before and after Eminem, but I think Em took it to a new level.

New album: There's a small chance of it being good. If you've been paying attention to his releases since Encore, you'll notice that he's been very light-hearted and comedic with the level of commercial succes he's attained. His work with D12 is purely for fun. Even the subject matter in many D12 songs follow the "we're doing this for cash and we don't give a fuck" theme.

However, since the death of his partner and close friend, Proof, he may bring back the emotions. It seems that the more upset/depressed Eminem is, the better the albums are.

We'll see...

I think I've heard one song from Eminem...I believe it was somewhat recent and was an anti-Bush piece I think...

...I was mostly bored...I can't even remember what it was called or sounded like at the moment...

Eminem isn't the fastest rapper, not by a long shot. His grasp of assonance and internal rhyme, however, is unmatched.

Skin colour has nothing to do with skill. Sage Francis? Buck65? Aesop? El-P?
