Batman show question - midi sound?

I was wondering how they made the sound of when Adam West punches people? I thought it might be a horn or some sort and I am trying to reproduce it on my Concertmate 1500, but I can't seem to find the right mix. It is a sharp sound, maybe a french horn?

it is not just one sound the crack sound was a celery stick being snaped and as for the rest play some more, and find a better sound those sounds were not made by electronic instrument they were made with peices of wire and bits of wood crap like that be original find the sound within
