WinMX is laced with spyware. My old computer got completely wrecked from it... Its still not clean. I highly advise against using WinMX.

WinMX sucks. Whenever you choose not to download a file when you click on it, it goes straight to the folder with "incomplete" on it. Besides, most of the downloads don't work anyway.

I used Kazaa just once and I was so pissed at it. Then later on I got BearShare. Much better and much faster.

I have the best experiences with Soulseek, but I must admit: I'm not a big P2P fan. Nobody seems to know mIRC? You can find a lot of full albums on mIRC. Pretty fast downloads, always good quality and quite safe: never heard the RIAA or IFPI complaining about mIRC

Yeah, I've tried telling that shit to my sister countless times, but she never listens to me. She's got herself a beautiful little labtop--damn thing is better than my PC in someways (better processor, nice HD) and she's got that thing so crapped out. I have an old ass labtop with win95 that runs smoother and faster than that damn thing does now. She's always asking me to fix it, make it run better and all that, but when ever I tell her what to do, she ignores me. I've told her numurous times to get rid of that satan spawn program. Even downloaded slsk, emule and a few others for her, but she doesn't use them. Always on WinMX. That damn thing takes up all the bandwidth too. Even when downloads aren't going.

Which reminds me, anyone know of any program that could limit bandwidth usage for computers on network? Example: computer 1 allowed bandwith=60%, computer 2=20%, etc etc. ?

I've not run into one that does that yet.

I've tested pretty much every p2p, soulseek works ok, i still use kazaa lite for 98% of all my downloads...and i download ---alot---.

You just have to be in all the right hubs in DC++(which obviously means that you should at least have 10gb+ data, but there are several very good hubs requiring only 500mb shares). If you can't find anything, just do a search for hubs in the artist's country at hublist.org
In Soulseek on the other hand you have to know some good users to get the files. Searches are also relatively weak and even if you find a user with the file you are probably on queue of quite some time.
