We've had so many threads seeking suggestions for new Prog/Psych bands -- so let's just start a thread and list whatever music we're listening to that fits into this catagory.

Right now, I'm listening to Echolyn's latest album "Mei", VERY nice neo prog album consisting of a single album-long track that is absolutely seamless...don't expect "Close To The Edge" w/ it's cut and paste method of increasing length...this is a complete work that doesn't let up for 50 minutes straight...it's really an amazing piece...complex instrumentation, tight melodies, beautiful vocal harmonies, strong lyrics...it has everything. This is higly accessible, yet highly ambitious Prog -- this stuff is catchy!. It manages to recall all of the '70s greats while still sounding fresh and original...this may be my favorite Prog album of 2002, actually.

If you like Progressive Rock at all, I'd say get this now!!!

2002 was a good year, amd if you think it is one of the best then I must check them out

Even though the samples for "Mei" don't do it any justice at all -- you need to hear all 50 minutes! I didn't even really get into the song until about 20 minutes and then finally decided it was brilliant! :tongue:

I was expecting something in the vein of Green Carnation's Light of Day... but this seems much more fuller.

Well I just got the Transatlantic cd "Bridge Across Forever" in the mail, and I've been listening to that for a little while now. I am enjoying it a lot so far.

Good choice, I may put that in myself.

I somehow don't like Transatlantic. Too un-adventurous kind.
