It's weird listening to pre-David Clayton Thomas BS&T, and I don't like this album as much as Blood, Sweat & Tears (2) & 3. But I think it's the only purely psychedelic BS&T album. The other two, I consider to be an acid rock/acid jazz fussion. While Child is the Father to the Man obviously has jazz influence and a full wind section, I couldn't dare call it fussion. the song, The Battle from BS&T 3 is a lot more like what to expect from this record. It's also the only psychedelic track from the later two albums although phsychedelic influences stayed with them. |
