On the Accelerate/New Adventures in Hi-Fi I can't help you, haven't heard it either.
On the new album that came out, I really don't know if I will ever bother on be looking for it. Not so good references after the Around the Sun record.

Is R.E.M still together?
As in,
they Jumped the Shark for Satchmo with Out of Time....someone wake me up when they release anything worth discussing.
Thats Satchmo in the corner
That's Satchmo in the spotlight
Shiny happy people holding hands
Everybody hurts....now excuse Satchmo while he falls into a coma.
Gag Satchmo with a spoon.
P.S. Don't even start me on Valley Girl. As in, Grody to the Max.

Haven't listened to the new one yet. Probably will, but not expecting much.
I really dig IRS Records era R.E.M. (Document is a great album), though I also really like Green. Everything after that - except Monster, which has its moments - was pretty unlistenable.

I agree Satchmo, definite shark jumpers and the single sets what I think the album would sound like.
Looking back in this thread it sounds like there are some gems on Monster so I'll have to at least check that out. Like you Zola I did enjoy Document so I'll check out Green. I might as well at least go for New Adventures too.
Damn I liked Out of Time, Me in Honey still gets me.

LOL Well, I still adore these guys. Didn't care for Reveal or Around the Sun but everything else I love. Got Accelerate on yesterday and while I think some of the reviews are a bit over the top, I think they're on the mend and on their way back.

I like Automatic for the People, a solid album. Haven't heard anything else. A couple of my friends/musical peers (that feels like a pretentious way to put it, but it gets the message across) love Murmur practically to death.

Yeah, we talked about this before. You have to get on Murmur, and all of their IRS stuff.
Here, I'll get you started on Document:

I like exactly one song by them and I remain disappointed that Chris did not include a "they suck" option in his poll because it stops me from being able to partcipate in the thread
