What I've heard of it sounded way less interesting than her previous records, but I guess I should give the complete album a listen once...

Orpheus - You really should tike time to listen to the whole album at a time. Also - it is more "accurate" in wintertime (that's what it's like here where I am at the moment). The music has a silvery crisp sound to it.
Thiscitysleeps - great!

Vespertine is definitely not my favourite Björk album, but it is another great album from one of the greatest artists ever. 'Pagan Poetry' is simply amazing.

Gotta agree with Chris on all points. Love Pagan Poetry.

Ok, I see what you mean if you say björk's got better material. But the album is outstanding for its wholesomeness (is there such a word in English?) It's a non-stop journey. At least for me...
But I do agree on Pagan Poetry being the best.
Have you heard Björk's songs in Icelandic? I'd suggest.

ive heard some of the icelandic stuff [Gling-Glo], but not enough to form a real opinion on. im nota fan of Sugarcubes and any icelandic stuff they did on their albums. the dude always broke the mood and got on my nerves.

wholesomeness is a word and it is perfect in describing Vespertine, along with the earlier wintery metaphors.
