but nevermind.
Here is the stuff I really enjoy using :
- Magix Music Maker (my sequencer)
- Sonic Foundry Sound Forge (my sound recorder, editor...)
- Cool Edit (for the filters and misc effects, such as the phaser)
- NI Kontakt (as a sampler)
- NI Fm7 (I create my sounds with it)
- NI Absynth (for some presets)
- NI Pro 53 (excellent basslines and some cool analog percussions)
- Amazing Slow Downer (for pitchin' and timestretchin')
- Timeworks effects (my reverb, my main equalizer, my delay processor, my main phaser...)

"what does it mean "if you're creative enough"?

okay, sorry, i meant for that "you're" to sound like i mean "you" in general. y'know, not particularly YRSELF but in general.

" The preset sounds are almost all trancey ..."

that's why i don't use preset sounds, instead i try to make some of my own. and that's what i actually meant to say with that "creative enough"...

Presets are bad.

Anyone who has that synth and hears your tune knows exactly what you used to make the sound.

chemical bros and crystal methods used presets?????????????????

that's incredible! I would never have guessed that!!!!!

but it makes me feel better about not ever purchasing one single CD from Chem Bros and selling Crystal Methods' first CD to a used CD store years ago!

the first crystal method cd could be replicated using rebirth... although the guys probably own the real synths... and even with the presets i still think the chemical brothers' 'dig your own hole' album is good...
