Breast Fed Yak - Get Your Greasy Head off the Sham

Controlled Bleeding bods, with Yoshida Tatsuya of Ruins, and some other blokes. I don't know what Ruins sound like, but this sounds like 15 free jazz bands playing at the same time, and is for all intents and purposes, unlistenable. The cover of The Door's "When the Music's Over" is fun though.

I knew you'd like the sound of that

Seriously, I've had this album for about 6 months, and I've still not managed to sit through it all in one go. It's plain evil, but I'm hoping it'll make sense someday.

WARREN BURT:
Harmonic Color Fields
on Pogus Productions

If you've ever been out in a field on a hazy summer day and heard all the insects buzzing, the birds chirping, and the wind in the grass, imagine a split second in the thick of that sound milieu, hold it statick and streeeeetch it out. That's what these pieces are like. It's not electroacoustically processed environmental sounds in the manner of David Dunn (a favorite of mine), but computer music. Burt "explore(s) the static microtonal harmonic fields. This means that once a piece begins, harmonically, it's going to stay pretty much the same for it's entire duration," so say the liner notes. But the pieces are far from boring if you like texture and color.
Influences, LaMont Young, Charlamagne Palestine, and Harold Budd (early Budd).
