They've been my favorite band since 1992, though I first heard them in 1988. I mean, they're my favorite band band, as opposed to composer. Actually the only "original" members are the nucleus of Edward Ka Spel and The Silver Man.

I actually have a couple Ka-Spel solo albums:

"O’er A Shalabastrtyde Strolt Ay"
"Khataclimici China Doll"
"The Scriptures of Illumina"

I must say I do like these, but have never really gotten into the "dots"

I have the latter two, but not the first one. My favorite on "Scriptures" is "The Nowhere Man," a great example of Ka Spelian angst. From "Khataclimici" I like "Another Tango" best. China Doll is a theme in Ka Spel, "Chyekk China Doll," "Aazhyd China Doll," "Tanz Der China Doll," and so forth. He's also got a whole theme of "Hotel" pieces over the years. "Hotel Noir," "Hotel Blanc," "Hotel Rouge," "Hotel X," "Hotel Y," etc. Then there's the numbered "Premonition" pieces. He'll use such themes on both his solo material, and LPD.

OOH!, I love that album. One of their best! My favorite Coil album, of course, is "Horse Rotorvator."

Eccentric composer & multi-instrumentalist Frank Pahl, from U-Michigan at Ann Arbor. I recommend anything by him and his affiliated projects. Great stuff!http://www.frankpahl.com/

Yeah, those are the two albums I own. I haven't bothered getting any further releases from them yet -- since I'm not that familiar with their catalogue, what would you recommend as follow-up albums?

I have about 15 Coil Cd's, but I'd have to dig them out to recommend any

This is what I have by Coil. The ones in bold are what I would recommend:

Coil vs. Elph- Coil vs. Elph
Coil- Music to Play in the Dark Vol. 1
Coil- Unnatural History II
Coil- 1000 Lights in a Darkened Room (as the black light district)
Coil- Hellraiser Themes
Coil- Unnatural History I
Coil- The Angelic Conversation
Coil- Constant Shallowness Leads to Evil
Coil- Stolen and Contaminated
Coil- Unnatural History III
Coil- A Guide for Finishers- A Hair of Gold
Coil- Bee Stings
Coil- Moon’s Milk
Coil- North
Coil- A Guide for Beginners: A Silver Voice
Coil- Autumn Equinox
Coil- Black Antlers CD-r
Coil- Love's Secret Domain
Elph vs. Coil- Worship the Glitch

I'd also recommend "Time Machines" if you find a copy somewhere...I've heard it once, but do not have a copy

You really didn't have to go through the trouble, I was just messing with you...

But thanks for the suggestions anyway.

Might follow those two recordings with Balls.
