that's still kinda weird, eh? Couldn't Kondo just take it somewhere else, or does Zorn own the rights to it? hmm...

It was recorded for his label, so I guess Zorn does have the rights.

the oldies but goodies.

as ive stated to Josh again and again--Penderecki. i am currently listening to Utrenja, a track that was included on the soundtrack to "The Shining."

perhaps his greatest work lies in his Dies Irae. i never knew how many different ways one could strike a bow or their instrument in general. everything from crawling creatures to some super-sonic low end bass movements supplement a totally intimate experience with darkness and its little monsters.

George Crumb: Vox Balaenae (Voice of the Whale); and of course MAKROKOSMOS!
John Cage: all of his sonatas and interludes for prepared piano.

I've been listening to the new Hollydrift CD, "Waiting For the Tiller" - experimental noise soundscapes with lots of field recording thrown in...

Even though this is a clever method of hiding what is really just blatant self-promotion, it's at least relevent to this forum, and more importantly, I like the music...so I'll let it slide... (( as this is just a "what are you listening to" thread ))... good stuff.
