What's your Dead Kennedys theme song?
Which Dead Kennedys song speaks to you the most?
The one that plays through your skull when the world around you seems base and cruel? Or the one that best mocks the morons you encounter on a day-to-day basis? Maybe it's the one that blares through your temples when you read the news or watch it on the television.
If you listen to punk, you've got a Dead Kennedys theme song, so what's yours, and why?

Terminal Preppie
Man dude, I just made like Billy Gates and quit school a couple days ago. What is the f-uckin point? Listening to this tune makes me want to rob a bank, or make out with my cat, or both.
"I want a wife with tits, who just smiles all the time in my centerfold world filled with Springsteen and wine"

This is a really hard question, there are so many classic songs especially on plastic surgery disasters. I just think that album as a whole is the best thing the ever did, easily.
However I think my favorite song would be "Moral Majority" off the "in god we trust" ep.
It is so short agressive and to the point. There is absolutely no fucking around and no punches pulled.
You call yourself the Moral Majority
We call ourselves the people in the real world
Trying to rub us out, but we're going to survive
God must be dead if you're alive
You say, 'God loves you. Come and buy the Good News'
Then you buy the president and swimming pools
If Jesus don't save 'til we're lining your pockets
God must be dead if you're alive
Circus-tent con-men and Southern belle bunnies
Milk your emotions then they steal your money
It's the new dark ages with the fascists toting bibles
Cheap nostalgia for the Salem Witch Trials
Stodgy ayatollahs in their dobble-knit ties
Burn lots of books so they can feed you their lies
Masturbating with a flag and a bible
God must be dead if you're alive
Blow it out your ass, Jerry Falwell
Blow it out your ass, Jesse Helms
Blow it out your ass, Ronald Reagan
What's wrong with a mind of my own?
You don't want abortions, you want battered children
You want to ban the pill as if that solves the problem
Now you wanna force us to pray in school
God must be dead if you're such a fool
You're planning for a war with or without Iran
Building a police state with the Ku Klux Klan
Pissed at your neighbour? Don't bother to nag
Pick up the phone and turn in a fag
Blow it out your ass, Terry Dolan
Blow it out your ass, Phyllis Schlafly
Ram it up your cunt, Anita
Cos God must be dead
If you're alive
God must be dead
If you're alive

I've been having a hard time coming up with just one, so here are three. They all happen to be from Fresh Fruit for Rotting Vegetables, the Dead Kennedys album that I've been listening to the longest and the one that's dearest to me. (Click the songs titles if you want lyrics.)
1. Forward to Death : Not that I'm looking forward to death, not really, but I can identify with the utter disgust with the current state of the world and modern society that the lyrics capture. It's not that life sucks; it's this everyday, safe, removed, modern-day existence that really gets to me sometimes. The "death" part, for me, is like escape.
2. Your Emotions : This sums up the vast majority of people that I encounter in this world. Sadly, a part of me is like this as well, and that's the part that I want to eradicate. You gotta have an independent, unique perspective on things or you're just a repetitive, boring, mindless drone. The truly enlightened see errors in status quo thinking.
3. Chemical Warfare : There are too many stodgy, golf-playing, uber-conservative preppies in this world, and this song is just a big "fuck you" to all of those types. I'm not about to start gasing people at the local courses, but I always love thinking about the absolute mayhem that those people deserve to experience. I'm friends with some of them, and related to others, so it's not about total hatred; it just amuses me to think of them confronted with something completely terrifying, uncontrolled and out of their element.
Honorable mentions to....
I Kill Children : My very favorite Dead Kennedys song, just because it's so wrong and funny, but of course it doesn't "speak" to me. I have no desire to kill anyone, so relax.
Too Drunk to Fuck : Another favorite that doesn't really capture anything about me, but that always seems to play in my head whenever I'm knocking down the beers.

It is a great album, I think it is THE classic DK's album and the songs you mentioned are awesome! I think I would add California Uber Alles to you list.
I think the band peaked with plastic surgery as I have said it is my fave DK's album.
A freind of mine saw Jello speak in January and he talked for over 6 hours ! He was saying alternative tentacles are fiancially struggling, it would be a shame if they went under.

It's hard to whittle it down when it comes to Fresh Fruit, for me. You're right, I could've easily said California Uber Alles, or Holiday In Cambodia for that matter, or Stealing People's Mail, etc.
He talked for over six hours!? I don't care how clever he is, that would be torture for me. ... But I'd probably rather sit through six long hours of Jello Biafra than six minutes of Henry Rollins.

Yep he as done that on the last 2 times that he has spoken in Sydney, even the most hard core Jello fans were getting restless by the end of it.

All great songs, but the one that keeps poppin up in my head the most is defenitly "Take this job and shove it!"'. Not their best tune tough, that would be "Holiday in Cambodia" I guess. Or "I fought the law". There's a rockabilly in everyone
