I know I got turned on...
Did any of you (who saw the concert for george) notice that they had two drummers and Ringo's set wasn't wired up with microphones like the other guy's? Just saying...

and of course, Hello Goodbye.

It is really interesting to hear how everyone here got into the Beatles. I personally got into the Beatles kind of backwards. The first beatles album I ever bought was the second edition of the Anthology. It was the third album I ever bought (I think I was maybe 14 at the time), I am embarrased to admit to what the first two were. Anyway, I had never even heard a Beatles song before in my life, in fact I had never heard what I would now consider to be a "good song." I remember putting it on the first time and being completely blown away. The beauty of strawberry fields, the raw energy of I'm down. It was all there. I have never turned back. Now, I own all of their albums, and almost all of them on vinyl But for I still get that magical "first listen" feeling that everyone talks about when I listen to the second Anthology. It brings back so many memory's that it might be my favorite to listen to.
Anyway, there isn't much you can go wrong with when it comes to the Beatles. The only thing I would suggest avoiding is the original Version of Yellow Submarine. The beatles songs on it are great, but i never got much our of George Martin's instrumental stuff. Get the song track instead, it has all the beatles songs from the original album, plus some other real gems, and all of them remastered. If only they would remaster their entire catalog, that is a project that is way overdue. Oh well, that is a different story all together.

I heard odd Bealtes tracks now and again when i was younger but never really hooked me, i was only about 8 at the time though, then when i was about 9 i heard Abbey road, and thought it was incredible, i then heard sgt.peppers and Revolver and was amazed at how good they were. Then after i heard the White Album, i never looked back, i think it is the greatest album ever, i can never get sick of it, the amount of times i must have listened to that album must be incredible!
